Chardham Yatra is India’s most devoted and featured part of India spiritual tour. Chardham is the most renowned and holy pilgrimage expedition in India that includes visiting to four glorious shrines including origin of Ganga rivers like Yamunotri, Gangotri, the Shiva shrine Kedarnath and lastly the Lord Bishnu shrine Badrinath Dham. A visit to these holy shrines together forms the Chota Chardham Yatra in India. All these famous sacred destinations are being located in the astonishing Himalayan foothills of Uttarakhand at distinct districts of north India.

The amazing valleys of the Great Himalayas proudly reflect thousands years old legends and history by beholding these sacred shrines at different districts namely Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Rudraprayag on the splendid Garhwal hills. Chardham exalted trip was being initiated thousands years ago, but in 8th Century it revived again by the great reformer and philosopher Adi Shankaracharya and since then the Chardham tour is welcoming numerous pilgrims at such tremendous locations from around the world.

ARRIVE DELHI

Arrive Delhi Airport Welcome to India - a country where hospitality is a way of life; to a culture steeped in tradition, a land where history lives in music and dance. You will be received at the airport Later time permits we take you to Akshardham. overnight stay.

DELHI, Drive to Mussoorie (290 KMS / 7-8 HRS)

Morning after breakfast drive to Mussoorie. Upon arrival check in the hotel. Overnight stay in hotel.

BARKOT

The beautiful town of Barkot is located in the Rawain Valley of Uttarkashi District on the banks of the Yamuna. The people of Rawain, who were cut off from the rest of Garhwal due to its remote location, practice a culture that is similar yet distinct from the rest of Garhwal; and it is this that makes this area exceptionally interesting. Barkot also boasts of stunning views of the Banderpunch range as well as a wealth of natural beauty. The town’s location on the route to the Yamunotri dham adds to its importance

BARKOT

After an early breakfast drive up-to Janki Chatti (starting point of the trek) in jeeps. Trek for 7 Kms to reach Yamunotri – one of the four sacred shrines of Uttrakhand & also the source of the river Yamuna. Visit the Yamunotri temple (dedicated to goddess Yamuna built by queen Gularia of Jaipur), Suryakund (has a temperature of 190 degree F, pilgrims tie rice & potatoes in a musline cloth & immerse it in the water to be cooked), Divyashila, a rock pillar, worshipped before entering the Yamunotri temple Trek back to Jankichatti and drive back to Barkot for overnight stay. ** From Hanuman Chatti to Janki Chatti (10 kms) and back, we may use local jeeps due to bad road condition. However it can be decided at the spot once you reach at Hanuman Chatti.**

UTTARKASHI

Morning after breakfast drive to Uttarkashi we will have a quick lunch and drive to Gangotari. Upon arrival check-in at hotel. We visit the temple for Aarti. Overnight stay in Gangotari GANGOTRI DHAM: The 18th century temple is modest granite structure first built in the 18th century and rebuilt. GANGOTRI –BHOJWASA-GAUMUKH-BHOJBASA

Morning after breakfast trek to Bhojwasa (Approx. 14 Kms ) and then continue trek to Gaumukh and back to Bhojwasa (Approx. 8 Kms both way) Overnight at Guest House ( Only dormitory)- separately common toilet. Bed at dormitory cannot be booked in advance . Lunch and dinner will be on direct pay at Canteen at Bhojbasa.

BHOJBASA-GANGOTRI

GANGOTRI -UTTARKASHI

Morning after breakfast drive to Uttarkashi, Later drive to Kashi Vishonath Temple in town, one of the Jyotirling. Later overnight stay.

UTTARKASHI – GUPTKASHI DRIVE 210 KMS

Morning after breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Guptkashi. Upon arrival check in the hotel for overnight stay.

GUPTKASHI – GAURIKUND – KEDARNATH DRIVE 30 KM TREK 17 KM

Morning drive to Gaurikund and start your trek to Kedarnath. Arrive Kedarnath in the Afternoon. Visit Kedarnath temple vernight stay in tended camp. Gaurikund: At a distance of 5kms from Sonprayag and at an altitude of 1982 meters. One can take bath in the hot water pond here and visit the Gauri Temple. This is the place where Goddess Parvathi meditated to attain Lord Shiva. It is the base for a trek to Kedarnath. Kedarnath: The Kedarnath shrine, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, is a scenic spot situated, against the backdrop of the majestic Kedarnath range. Kedar is another name of Lord Shiva, the protector and the destroyer. According to legend, the Pandavas after having won over the Kaurava in the Kurukshetra war, felt guilty of having killed their own brothers and sought the blessings of Lord Shiva for redemption. He eluded them repeatedly and while fleeing took refuge at Kedarnath in the form of a bull. On being followed he dived into the ground, leaving his hump on the surface. The remaining portions of Lord Shiva appeared at four other places and are worshipped there as his manifestations. The arms appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhmaheshwar and his locks (hair) with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the four above-mentioned shrines are treated as Panch Kedar.

KEDARNATH – GAURIKUND – CHOMALI TREK 17 KM 160 KMS

Morning trek down to Gaurikund and Drive to Chomali, Upon arrival check in the hotel for overnight stay

CHOLAMI- JOSHIMATH – BADRINATH – JOSHIMATH 140 KMS ROUND TRIP

Moring drive to, Joshimath drop the bag and again drive to Badrinath. Upon arrival at Badrinath visit holy temple. Later in the day drive back to Joshimath for overnight stay in hotel. Badrinath one of the ‘Four Dhams’ is one of the most celebrated pilgrimage spots of the country and is situated at an elevation of 3,133 meters, guarded on either side by the two mountain ranges known as Nar & Narayan with the towering Neelkanth Peak providing a splendid backdrop. This revered spot was once carpeted with wild berries. Thus the place got the name “Badri van”, meaning “forest of berries”.

JOSHIMATH – RISHIKESH DRIVE 260 KM

Morning after breakfast return drive to Rishikesh. En-route at Devprayag, take a short photo stop of its magnificent confluence view of Bahagirathi & Alaknanda. And further drive to Rishikesh. Upon arrival check in the hotel. DEVPRAYAG: The small town of Devprayag at the confluence of river Alaknanda and Bhagirathi. From this confluence point onwards, the new river is called as Ganga. Before this point, Bhagirathi is considered Ganga. The place is of high religious importance, as Ganga takes it real form here. The town is named after a sage Dev Sharma, who lived here and meditated. He is said to have been blessed with a glimpse of god. Devprayag is a popular destination for Hindu pilgrims. Religious ablutions take place at two basins excavated in the rock at the junction of the holy streams. One on the Bhagirathi known as the Brahm Kund and the other on the Alaknanda called Vashisth Kund. Evening enjoy Ganga arti (if time permits)at Parmarth Niketan Ram jhula. Overnight stay in hotel.
