Chulu West Expeditions Nepal (6420 mtr)- 21 days

The highest trekking peak of Nepal - Chulu West

Of the two Chulus (East and West), Chulu West is the higher peak. The first ascent to Chulu West in 1952 by a Japanese Expedition team. It is lies in a small valley north of Manang; off the main trail to the Thorong La. Chulu East was climbed by a German Expedition team in 1955 via the North East Ridge. Thus, it is difficult to differentiate between the two Chulus. However, the Chulu group comprises of four peaks; two in the east and two in the west. There are no technical difficulties in ascending these peaks but the progress can be slow as the slopes are vulnerable to avalanches in certain conditions. These peaks are lying together which forms an integral part of the Manang Himal which in turns is included in the Larger Damodar Himal.

Day 01 : Meeting upon arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, transfer to hotel.

Day 04 : Trek to Bahundanda, overnight at guesthouse.
Day 05 : Trek to Chamje, overnight at guesthouse.
Day 06 : Trek to Dharapani, overnight at guesthouse.
Day 07 : Trek to Chame, overnight at guesthouse.
Day 08 : Trek to Pisang, overnight at guesthouse.
Day 09 : Trek to Manang, overnight at guesthouse.
Day 10 : Acclimatization at Manang, overnight at guesthouse.
Day 11 : Trek to Chulu West Base Camp, overnight at tented camp.
Day 12 : Rest at Chulu West Base Camp, overnight at tented camp.
Day 13 : Ascent to High Camp, overnight at tented camp.
Day 14 : Summit Chulu West (6,420meter) and back to Base Camp, overnight at tented camp.
Day 15 : Trek to Thorong High Camp, overnight at guesthouse.
Day 16 : Trek to Muktinath after crossing Thorong La pass (5,416meter), overnight at guesthouse.
Day 17 : Trek to Jomsom, overnight at guesthouse.
Day 18 : Fly back to Pokhara, overnight at hotel.
Day 19 : Drive back to Kathmandu, overnight at hotel.
Day 20 : Leisure day in Kathmandu, overnight at hotel.
Day 21 : Transfer to airport, departure onward destination.
